Superglass is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of insulation, and a firm favourite with MKM customers as it’s so easy to use and install. Their glass mineral wool products conserve heat to make homes warmer and more comfortable, as well as reducing energy bills for homeowners. Take a further look into why choosing glass mineral wool from Superglass is a great choice.
Reducing waste to save valuable energy
Research has shown that over its lifetime, a typical glass mineral wool product can save more than 200 times the energy used in its manufacture and transport. But Superglass products take sustainability even further.
Made from up to 84% recycled waste glass, in an advanced production facility that reduces energy usage and maximises the secondary use of resources. For example, having water on a closed circuit to reduce consumption and avoid dirty water being discharged, and recycling any fibre waste back into the system.
Sustainability all wrapped up
After production, the insulation material is compression-packed to one-ninth its original size, maximising the amount that can be carried on each palette to minimise delivery miles, the impact of transporting it to your local MKM branch and the amount of storage space on site. For Superglass, it’s not just about producing sustainable products sustainably. It’s about a different way of thinking – as the video below demonstrates.
Environmental accreditations
Superglass products have BRE verified Environmental Product Declarations (EPD). Verifications from BRE Global provide end users and specifiers with the confidence that environmental claims made relevant to Superglass Insulation products are credible, through a process of independent assessment and validation of evidence put forward in respect of products, service, or practice.
