A glazed porcelain tile with a matt finish and frost-proof glaze. With modern manufacturing and digital printing, plank tiles like this can capture the beauty of natural wooden flooring with incredible detail. The Scandinavia Grey has an open grain and defining tree rings. Digitally printed tiles like this do not require sealing and cannot warp or rot like real wood.

If tiling the Scandinavia Grey in brickbond do not use an overlap of greater than 25% as these tiles are not rectified. Plank tiles such as this can create an illusion of space in smaller rooms because of fewer grout lines.

There are 20 different prints in Scandinavia. Each box is random and you may receive multiple copies of certain patterns inside different boxes, they are packed at random at the factory. When fitting this sort of multi-print tile you should mix the tiles from various boxes as you go, to gain a more desired effect.

Frost-proof tiles are an important consideration for rooms where the temperature may drop below zero such as utility rooms and conservatories. Tiles with a frost-proof glaze have a water absorption rate of less than 0.5% meaning they are ideal for such conditions. Tiles which are not frost-proof may absorb water which would freeze at zero and below, causing the tile to crack.

Tiles classified as an anti-slip floor tile are assigned an R value which runs along a scale from R9 (not tested but manufactured to a minimum standard) all the way through to R13 (the highest slip resistance). As the Scandinavia Grey has an has an R9 slip rating, it is regarded as safe for fitting in all domestic areas.
